GOT TOGETHER IN 2010 !!!!!!!!
7am Saturday 24th July saw me thundering along the A47 from Leicestershire towards Norwich. After securing accomodation in Wymondham, I met up with the German contingent consisting of Paul Williams and the occupants of four other Trikings, at Wroxham on the Broads. I exhausted my limited German after one sentence and so was very gratefull for Pauls linguistic expertise.
From Wroxham we made our way to the Travel Inn in Cringleford where we remained for a short time whilst our visitors settled in. Our next port of call was Tony D's new address in Hetherset. We hadn't been there long before Phil and Hilary Whitter arrived, this swelled our numbers to seven cars. Tony and one of his Sons 'Rex' made us feel very welcome and we spent a couple of hours pawing over old photographs, unfortunatly Anita couldn't be present as she was away for the weekend. The visit culminated with a photo session with Tony and all 'his' cars. Tony had clearly been very moved by our visit and i've no doubt it did him the world of good.
We then made our way to the Bell (or is it the Blue Bell ?) in Marlingford via Tonys old premises. We all enjoyed a very good meal 'Al Fresco' before returning to our various accomodations. The following morning we all met up again at Alans new Triking facility in Hingham, where we were joined by Bob Smith and Nigel BB thus swelling our numbers to nine cars. Alan and Nicki were very welcoming and kept us supplied with tea and biscuits whilst we explored the 'Factory' . Our visit coincided with that of a customer who was part way through a build, I hope he joins our Club !
Alan as usual was a mine of information helping us all out with one thing or another, I learn't that the three grease nipples on the propshaft support bearings, greased the self aligning function of the bearing assembly and not the bearing itself, I also discovered that my ride height was far greater than that of the other cars ( A fact also noticed by Paul )
I'm sure that we could all have happily stayed for a couple more hours but we left just after midday and made our way in beautiful sunshine to Blakeney on the North Norfolk coast. We parked on the Quay side and enjoyed a meal at a nearby pub.
All too soon it was time for us to go our seperate ways, all except for Karl or was it Axel, who encountered a problem with the hydraulic actuation of his clutch whilst still in blakeney and had to be recovered by Alan.
I would like to thank everybody for making the trip, especially our friends from overseas. I would love to think that it marks the start of renewed enthusiasm amongst owners.
My thanks and regards to you all ....... Andy
